In accordance with your instructions this day received by me, I was to repair to the building occupied by the Post Office, and be put in possession of the details having reference to the loss sustained by Mr. Hyland the Post Master, by the falling in of a portion of that building in September last, to the destruction of his property, I have the honor most respectfully to state that in compliance with said instruction, I immediately waited upon Mr Hyland, who conducted me to the upper room situated at the north-east angle of the
